Happy New Year Everyone!
I hope everyone met their reading or writing goals for 2012, and if not, hopefully you made enough progress to encourage you for 2013!
Goodreads has a cool little widget that you can customize, and I put together all the books I read in 2012. I was at about 70 total, which is the most books I've ever read in one year. Woohoo!
I've read so much YA the past two years for reserach in writing (and because I like it), that I'd like to branch out and read more non-fiction and non-YA fiction this year. My first haul from the library this year reflects this: a memoir, a history book, a writing craft book, and two non-YA fiction novels.
How about you? Are you satisfied by how many books you read last year? Do you plan to read more or less in 2013?

I didn't read many books last year, but I've joined the Goodreads reading challenge this year, to read 50 books! Hope I can manage it :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Even if you don't, it's helpful to read the reviews on Goodreads. My list grows longer every time I log on to their site.
Delete70 books is amazing. I managed around 52 in 2012 which I'm happy with.
ReplyDeleteI managed to read 79 books, which was 4 more than I aimed for, so I'm happy with that. I set a goal for myself of 85 books this year, so we'll see if that actually happens. :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a good list! I see some really good books in there. I think 70 is a fabulous amount. I managed to get 105 read (admittedly some were short stories and novellas) and was very happy with that. I'm going to aim for the same this year! Good luck with your 2013 reading :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That's an accomplishment. I realize now there's a few short writing craft books I didn't count in my total, but that's OK. I think short stories and novellas count.
DeleteWow. 70 books! Good for you. No idea how many i read but it wasn't that many :) haha
ReplyDeleteLove the widget! Great job on your 2012 reading!
ReplyDeleteThose are some great books you read. Congratulations! :)
ReplyDeleteAll I read all textbooks these days. No time for leisurely reading.
