But that also makes me a slow writer, and I like the idea of throwing it on the page in November, taking December off, and hitting it hard again in January with my editor hat on.

Best wishes. I'm a bit behind, sitting at 25,122 as of yesterday. I need to get to writing and catch up!Tia Bachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18336780518125138789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271157837542030455.post-41256814288061279212012-11-20T17:40:13.221-06:002012-11-20T17:40:13.221-06:00I think if I view this as a really long outline, t...I think if I view this as a really long outline, that's helpful; the skeleton of the story, even if gaps need to be filled in. I agree, not really a completed first draft, but possibly more progress than no Nano involvement!Stephscohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06328839483008086049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271157837542030455.post-2236463801734931702012-11-19T11:55:08.872-06:002012-11-19T11:55:08.872-06:00For me, NaNo hasn't been about quality words--...For me, NaNo hasn't been about quality words--it's been more about getting the skeleton of my story down. I've tried outlining, and major plot points has been about as far as I've been able to get. I need to draft to figure out the rest of the story. My goal is to get to 50k words by the end of November, but I'm not sure where that will put me in terms of a completed first draft. We'll see. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06754425388806152768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271157837542030455.post-22346788371480909692012-11-19T01:43:10.523-06:002012-11-19T01:43:10.523-06:00you are over and that is awesome!!! keep up the g...you are over and that is awesome!!! keep up the good writing!Tammy Theriaulthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13128574900510175415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271157837542030455.post-40539222225519146622012-11-17T04:41:53.733-06:002012-11-17T04:41:53.733-06:00I just added you on NaNo...I'm behind on my wo...I just added you on NaNo...I'm behind on my word count. I've gone back to add stuff--for me that actually has beefed up my word count because I'm adding stuff and not fixing stuff. This is my first NaNo experience so I don't have a strategy other than to keep writing. Good luck!Cynthiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00912167351889969855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271157837542030455.post-53225586951710228842012-11-16T13:37:21.259-06:002012-11-16T13:37:21.259-06:00I want quality words at the end of November and no...I want quality words at the end of November and not 50,000 rubbish words. I took a step back some days ago, and today I actually feel like doing some writing again, so that's good. I'm sitting at almost 16,000 words, so that's nothing to be ashamed about. :) Good luck with your NaNo-ing!Jaime Morrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03023932422477544525noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271157837542030455.post-83733526026690881562012-11-16T10:40:50.218-06:002012-11-16T10:40:50.218-06:00I too tried the Go Back, writing the new words in ...I too tried the Go Back, writing the new words in a different color font so I'd be able to tally them up later. It also seemed like a good idea at the time...but it was painstaking!Diana Gallagherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09617882696197032523noreply@blogger.com
